Good question! I am loathe to throw anything away, but I am trying to give things away more often now. We made curtains and I hung on to leftover fabric for months - we live in an apartment and it was just silly. I gave it to a friend who would actually use it.
That is more of your decision . Separate into piles of maybe and keep, stoe in totes and then make your decision. My motto is not others opinion and do be hasty to regret later on.
I throw nothing away and have always found a use for it sooner or later. Plus it is also a money issue. If you do not want to use, give away to a local school or retirement home, they can always use free craft supplies. Or give give away to a friend that has a use for them. I have craft supplies mainly stashed in one closet, but I outgrew that space and now it is in boxes and tins in every nook and cranny of my teeny tiny house and a whole bunch of "projects in progress" or stuff waiting for me to do domething, live in my garage. My car is in the garage any my second car now lives in the driveway . . . An ongoing battle. This spring I have to sort out the garage as it is now just a dumping ground and I can't get to anything, it is a mess! And frustrating, but I made the mess so I gotta clean it up! 😍
Donate to women's shelters. Many times, those women are fleeing a dangerous situation and don't have the luxury of thinking of their child's creativity (!!) so they leave with virtually nothing. Ask around where the closest shelter is.
I'm very bad, I keep all my crafts. I always find I eventually use it. I am fortunate and have a large basement. I store them in totes and plastic drawers
