Unless you can pass the test at your local county office, I would hire someone. My husband had worked in construction for 20+ years and he had a difficult time passing the test, and believe me he knows his stuff! Make sure whomever you hire is certified.
I would strongly suggest you hire a licensed electrician for this. It's too easy to do this wrong and burn your house down after which insurance won't pay. This one is not a DIY if you don't already have the skills.

Home Advisors runs background checks on all their skilled laborers so you can feel comfortable having them in your home. First make sure that is the issue because it's usually put in before the carpenters close it up when putting up walls , but if your not expirenced there's certain factors when cutting out the wall, studs wireing and you could get hurt so get someone who's expirenced but be best .
