Have a foggy peep hole on your front door? It is super annoying and makes them totally unusable. However, you don't have to replace the whole door. It's actually pretty cheap and easy to replace your peep hole with a new, crystal clear one! here is how.

Identify the problem

Foggy peep hole? Wipe it down well with a damp cloth to be sure it's not just dirty. If the fog doesn't go away, it's time to replace it!

Remove the old peep hole

Use one hand to hold the peephole in place (on the outdoor side of the door).

In the other hand, use needle nose pliers to grip the lip of the peep hole and twist. Keep twisting until it completely falls out.

Insert new peep hole

Insert your new peep hole, making sure you have the looking glass facing the right direction (so you look out and not in!) Gently twist into place.

Note - this is a great time to update the color of your peephole! If you don't like the old gold or brass you can get black or silver, too!

Enjoy your clear new view

Congrats! You can now see clearly out and see who is knocking at your door. This should make you feel safer answering the door when you clearly know who it is!
