Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that. unfortunately there is not much that you will be able to do. If the fur is singed just on the very tips you could give it a "haircut" and trim off the outer tips of the fur. If the singed area isn't too large (and you can sew) you could also consider trimming off the singed area and resewing the hem.

I am so glad you were able to figure something out to get rid of the singed part. Sounds like it is coming along well!

Oh that is too bad, I am not sure what you can do to fix it either. It is singed "overall" or just in certain spots?

    Can it be made smaller?

I suppose you could add a thin material over the singed side, so you can at least still use the blanket and get some warmth?

It has melted. There is nothing you can do. Sorry.

Yes, unfortunately due to the fibre content being synthetic, it has burned, due to the heat being too high.

Where exactly on the throw are the damaged portions- edges, middle, etc.?

Basically, it is melted. You can take scissors and trim slightly, 1/16" at a time until all the "singe" is gone.

Can you trim off the singed fur and still make it salvageable?

  • Cheryl A Cheryl A on Oct 29, 2020

it melted the materials so you would need to replace it, cut off the singed parts not much else you can do about burns

  • Can you cut off or shave down the melted parts? That might be the only way

    Hello,

It will take time and a good pair of sharp craft shears or maybe an electric razor or bobble trimmer. Hope that helps.

Hi! Without seeng the damage, I would suggest trimming damaged areas off or taking it to a dry clean to see if it can be saved. Good luck!

Can you try to trim the singed area?

  • Lindsay Aratari Lindsay Aratari on Oct 31, 2020

Might be gone unless you can trim off some of the singed areas

  • You could shorten the blanket by trimming it and stitching the end otherwise it might be lost.

Can't unburn something. If just the tips are burned, you might try some clippers to give it a shave.
