Contact paper would be quick, easy, and inexpensive. You can also do peel & stick tile.

Metal "ceiling tile" backsplash adhered with 3m velcro strips could work. Good luck!
Peel and stick tiles would be the answer. Or do you think you could get away with painting the backsplash?
At Home Depot they make a product that we used on my daughter's apartment. We made it permanent but you could use double sided sticky pads to attach it temporarily. https://www.homeroad.net/2013/09/tin-ceiling-backsplash.html#more
here's how i painted the backsplash in my old condo https://www.charlestoncrafted.com/brand-new-backsplash/
Peel and stick tiles
I doubt if double-sided sticky pads will be sufficiently robust to hold the textured metal panels in Homeroad's link upright on an uneven surface such as a tiled wall, without popping out or sliding down.
