Are you asking about using a cast iron pot as a fire pit liner?
I am not sure your old cast iron pots will work for fire unless it has some large holes in the bottom to allow the air to flow through. Fire needs a "chimney" of air coming up through the bottom sides etc to feed the fire with oxygen.
