How do you convert a round dining into a coffee table?

Round dining table that can pull apart to add a leaf and I would like to convert is into a coffee table with hinges in middle to make one side fold down.

It seems to me that the big difference would be to shorten the legs. You could either trim the existing legs or remove them entirely and add new, shorter legs. Good luck!
