I saw an old hutch top once hung on the wall in a bathroom above the commode and used at storage with a towel bar added beneath it :)

I had an older table that I wasn't using and I painted it the same color as the hutch and set the hutch on top of it. It's perfect to display the kid school projects and pictures.

Put bun feet on it to make it look finished and use it as a media cabinet. With the glass doors , no need to open to use remotes

Bookshelf is a great idea if it doesn't have doors. You can buy feet at any home improvement store. Could be painted or stained to match a long low dresser and put on top.
