    Hi Chyrl,

You could always add fabric to the underside of the glass using Mod Podge, either one piece or scraps decoupaged on top or Paint the underside or use Contact or Stick on tile covers etc.....

  • You can always paint a pretty design on the under side of the table. I am big on textiles, runners, placemats and table cloths. I have something pretty for almost any occasion.

Cheryl, Facebook will not post your name correctly. If you want to really go modern, then go backwards. Change the table to a big footrest or hassock. Remove the glass and replace it with wood. Plywood is strong enough to sit on. If all the sides are glass, you only need to add 2x2or4 strips between the glass parts. Cover the sudes with pleated fabric. Paint the entire top and edges with a couple of coats of white paint. Then lift the wooden top you made. Use spray adhesive to attach a thick round layer or two of firm foam. You could actually use two levels of foam, but keep in mind the weight of the heaviest person who might sit on the hassock. Cover the foam with strong fabric, which does not have to be the same as the sides. Staple the fabric onto the wood circle, pleating it if you wish. On the parts where no one would be sitting, add embellishments.

This may become a centerpiece in your family or living room. Continue to update it as your tastes change. Best wishes!
