This year for Valentine's Day I made a heart-shaped wreath using oyster shells. If you want to create something special for your loved one learn how to make an oyster shell valentine wreath. You will need a heart -shape wreath, oysters and a glue gun. You can find the heart-shape wreath in the craft section of you favorite craft store or you can cut one out using a durable cardboard. You can paint the cardboard white so it blends with the oysters.
Step 1: Clean the oysters with a solution of cider vinegar and water. Let them soak in a pail for a few hours and then brush off dirt with a small brush. Let them dry for the day.
Step 2: Once the oyster shells dry. You can prepare the wreath for the gluing process. Make sure the wreath have two holes at each end so you can tie a ribbon to hang the wreath.
Step 3: Begin by gluing the oyster around the edge of the heart. Then you work your way inside the heart-shapes wreath filling the center with oysters shells. Do this quickly because the glue stick will dry fast. If the glue stick dries to quickly just remove it and add more. I use gorilla glue stick its the most durable.
Step 4: Once the wreath is drying. You can create a big red bow with some ribbon and glue it on the oyster shell.
Now your heart shape oyster wreath is ready for hanging. You can place it any where on a wall, door or fireplace mantel.
