If your guest bedroom needs a patterned pick-me-up then we have the perfect solution for you! No silly, we're not talking about wallpaper. Wallpaper is known to be super expensive, damage walls and can limit creativity. So what's a better alternative? Wall stencils are a great alternative to wallpaper because they are easy to apply, can be customized to the space, and are inexpensive!
Let's take a look at a bathroom makeover using one of our newer stencil patterns, the Charlotte Allover Stencil.
We'd like to introduce Ruthie, the creative DIYer behind the blog Refashionably Late. Ruthie is repainting her home one room at a time and has decided to start with her guest bedroom first. She commented, "It was pretty much the room where all things extra were placed. Nothing matched or went together." Here is what the guest bedroom looked like before the makeover.
This space could totally use a dose of pattern, right? The first thing that Ruthie did was paint the the ceilings and walls with a bright white flat paint. She felt the bedroom needed a striking feature wall behind the bed. After searching our extensive wall stencil collection, Ruthie selected the Charlotte Allover Stencil, a lace-like pattern.
Once the bedroom was painted Ruthie was ready for the fun part, stenciling! She said, "I chose to use the Charlotte Allover Stencil Pattern because I thought it would compliment the dramatic feel I was going for." To add to the dramatic tone she was seeking, Ruthie decided to paint the wall pattern in Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams.
Ruthie had this to say about her stencil project, "I'm ECSTATIC with the results and I love how it turned out." We're so happy to hear that she loves it!
