For as long as I can remember I've wanted a bar cart or console in our dining room. After looking for two years, I decided to make my own I did this with some legs from Pretty Pegs and MDF from Home Depot.
Here's the before. MDF Board from Home Depot and Pretty Pegs.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and clear wax to create the look of marble with paint. I share the complete tutorial for painting the faux finish on this blog post: http://www.findingsilverpennies.com/2015/10/fake-marble-with-paint.html It is quite easy and fun. You'll need paint, feathers, a spray bottle and a top coat of your choice.
In no time I had the faux marble look for the fraction of the cost.
It is the perfect addition to our french dining room. Read more about this makeover on the blog.

Pam Garman on Dec 24, 2015Very pretty. I made a bar out of an old baby changing table. Removed the drawers and installed wine glass hardware up underneath. A side door remains which is used for bar accessories. Painted the whole thing with chalk paint and had plexi glass cut for top and bottom.
