Black and White Dressing Table

Hey there Hometalk Friends! Today I'm sharing the makeover of this little thrift store dressing table.
It was pretty scratched up and the interior had seen better days, but a little shabby makeover gave it a lot of personality:
After painting, I decided to use my silhouette to add a damask pattern to the top. (See my link at the bottom if you are interested in a similar stencil.)
Then I taped off the sides and gave it a fun pop of contrast with stripes:
Continuing with the black and white theme, I lined the drawers with black and white damask fabric...
I replaced the hardware with these that I rescued from a curbside drawer, and the small glass ones I found at Hobby Lobby:
How about the inside? That's probably my favorite!
The mirror was missing so I decided to replace it with a chalkboard. I found this frame in my stash and it was just perfect for the job:
I also lined the inside with fabric.
This is really a unique piece now, and has already sold.
See more details at the link to the original post on my blog below. :)

Confessions of a Serial DIYer on Nov 07, 2015Thanks, Sue. I actually had a mirror that would fit from another piece that just needed holes drilled, but I thought the chalkboard was fun for a change. A reader of mine purchased it for her daughter to use as a desk, so that worked out nicely. The middle drawer is just a false front since the inside is open for storage. :)
