We salvaged these custom cupboard doors that I painted , from our cottage. They would not fit any of our current cupboards. Did not have the heart to throw them away.
My hisband came up with the idea to cut away the drywall, which revealed a narrow opening. He reamed in the space and added shelves. We used 1 piece of 1"x4" and cut them to fit.
After painting the interior, I now have a place for my spices. No more reaching through and around to find them in the larger cupboards. They are right in the open.

It looks like you attached them onto the drywall, probably just using langer screw to reach the studs. I've read that you need to remove the drywall first because the opening of the door will break down the drywall from the micro movements of the hinge. I want to add a single 11.5" folding door section into the opening of a linen closet but would have to deal with the metal edge of drywall beading. I also see you used kitchren cabinet hinges, my plan too. Love your painting.
