Sunburst Mirror Made From Thrift Store Mini Blind
I wanted a Sunburst Mirror like I had seen in stores, but I wanted to spend as little money as possible. I had the small mirror, so I went to the Thrift Store to find something to use for the sunburst part. I found a faux wood mini blind for $2.99 that I thought would be perfect.
I love the way the gold mirror looks on the white fireplace.
I took apart the mini blinds.
I cut the blinds up using a old pair of scissors, and glued them to the back of the mirror with hot glue. I spray painted the mirror with a metallic gold spray paint. You can see more step-by-step instructions in the blog post.

Love this 👏🏽I have about a ten windows with this type of blinds that have 4-5 extra slats at the bottoms- think I remove these and use them which saves me going thrifting during lockdown😷. I plan to use this mirror on my porch and the faux wood should do well outside. Thanks for your idea. 💐

Pretty and easy to create. I love projects that recycle materials. Just an idea, I would glue jewels over the holes in the slates for the strings. And maybe on the ends as well. Clear jewels would look nice or could use a color to match decor. Silver slats would look nice too. Thank you for sharing.

I am re-doing my guest bathroom and have a large empty space on the wall that I think this will look amazing on. I have an old "regular" mini blind made out of plastic. Do you think this will work instead of wooden blinds? Also does anyone think a rounded punch for scrapbooking corners would work to neatly cut the ends?
