Get the Look of Shiplap Using Peel and Stick Flooring!

If you've followed me over the past few weeks, you know I've been redoing my kitchen using MOSTLY PAINT and giving it the "Fixer Upper" inspired look. I couldn't call it a Fixer Upper inspired kitchen without the classic farmhouse look of SHIPLAP!
What is shiplap exactly?? I share more details and a better definition of what shiplap actually is on my blog.
This project was already such a huge undertaking, I wanted to do something easy for the backsplash.
Peel and stick vinyl tile to the rescue!!
They stick on with ease and cut using an exacto knife. Soooo easy.
I used a penny to space the planks.
Primed with Stix bonding primer.
Painted using the same color as my cabinets.
Please be sure to stop by my blog for the FULL DETAILS on how I did this, as well as links and paint colors.

Definitely inspired. How does this handle splatters? Can you wipe it with damp cloth? What is your countertop made of? I love it.

    Will they stick to paneling?

Yes, but they will eventually start to fall off. We bought an old farmhouse and every wall was covered in 1970’s paneling. For some reason when my husband took down all of the paneling and put up sheetrock he didn’t do the closets. So a year ago I put up vinyl plank flooring. I used extra spray adhesive and loved the results. But a year later they are starting to fall off the walls. Next step is to put them back up and use a pin nailer to make sure they stay.

I did this with wainscotting - so far, in my living/dining room . . . makes a HUGE difference. Soooo much easier than doing wallpaper or even sheet/ply-wood. Great idea for the backsplash, too!!!
