Japanese Tie Dye Shibori

I adore the blue and white color combination in my kitchen decor It's so fresh and clean looking. I also adore using cloth napkins. They're just a bit more classy and so much better for the landfill. You can make your own faux Japanese Shibori tie dye cloth napkins in less than an hour.
I recently received my dream set of Fiesta dishes and these faux Shibori tie dye napkins coordinate perfectly in my blue and white kitchen.
You'll need cloth napkins, permanent markers and rubbing alcohol. I used 100% cotton cloth napkins.
I marked off the geometric design that I wanted with a ruler and then used the permanent marker to trace my design.
Adding the rubbing alcohol makes the marker ink blur and mimic the look of tie dye. It really is easy to do, the most difficult thing is choosing your design. More detailed information is available at the link below.

Mmmmm, Fiesta Cobalt and Peacock. Very cute idea. I think I will try it to go with my Scarlet, Shamrock and Sunflower combination. And for my daughter who uses Tangerine, Shamrock and Sunflower Fiesta!
