SUPPLIES
The pom pom must be large enough to squeeze into the lid and give a nice puffy, thick surface. The 1 size is too small. The one's shown measured about 1 3/8 which "might" be considered 1 1/2 size. (I purchased mine in a large bag of mixed sizes.) The lids come in a variety of colors or you could also spray paint them if desired.
Add hot glue to your lid.
Add your elastic.

I use my in my sewing box for straight pins also add elastic long enough to fit around the base neck of sewing machine - position it in front so its handy to reach or velcro the bottom And stick it onto the base or end of machine . They make cute mini pin cushion for a guild retreat gift or quilting friends

Why 3 inches of elastic? My fattest finger - and, trust me, they are all fat! - only measures a bit more than 1 inch. Even allowing for the glues ends, it shouldn't take more than 2 inches, by my calculations.
That is such a cute idea. Thank you! 🙂
What a cute little idea. Love the instructions and pictures. Very clear as to intent and purpose. May I have permission to print this along with credit to you and your blogs to share with seniors in homes? Thanks for the creativity you exhibit.
