When it comes to easy DIY home upgrades, nothing makes as impressive an impact as this project I'm about to share with you here today. When you add affordable trim a few inches above your builder-grade baseboards and then paint in between, you can get a very high-end look for less!
Did you know that purchasing a 5-7 inch baseboard from the home improvement store can get very expensive very quickly? However, with this little trick, you can get the look for less! Simply buy basic trim molding and install that approximately 3 inches above your basic baseboards. Caulk and paint the whole thing white for a lovely, chunky baseboard look - on a budget!

Have a question about this project?
Did you ever think about the cleanliness aspect of this project when finished? Now instead of one ledge, you have multiple ledges that need to be dusted. Put this in a kitchen and you will need to get on your knees and physically scrub those "pretty improvements" to get them clean of grease and dust so common in kitchens. Even in your children's rooms or heavily traveled areas of the house like hallways, entrance ways, mud rooms or laundry rooms (oy), this will be a nightmare. If the kids are out of the house, then have at it but if you have a busy house don't be surprised when people come over and notice your not so clean baseboards.
AWESOME, " on my to Do list!! On your Blog, it showed you put at top of stairs, did you stop there or take it down the stairs too??
Thanks
Does anyone have pictures of the crown moldings done in this method?
Would LOVE to see it! 😌
