3 Cheers for the Red, White, and Blue!

Necessity sure was the mother of invention for this tablescape. I had invited guests over for an impromptu 4th of July barbecue and shortly before they arrived, I realized that I had given absolutely no thought to decorating the table. Time to do what I love to do most when decorating the table - go raid the drawers, closets, and all my other storage spots.
It started with a boring, ho-hum tablecloth. Then it was time to raid my husband's bandana stash. A quick pressing made them look almost new and allowed the bandanas to lie neatly on the table. Take two red bandanas and lay them in a diamond shape with the corners of the diamonds just touching each other.m
Layer 3 blue bandanas on top of the red ones, also in a diamond pattern.
Now the fun part - go raid your Christmas/holiday decorations and pull out anything in a star shape - candles, candleholders, and other decorations and scatter them around the tabletop.
Grab your leftover bandanas - also neatly pressed - fold them and create pockets to stash each person's silverware in. When unfolded, the bandana pockets will serve as napkins.
Place the silverware pocket on a white plate, and let the party begin.
