CONCRETE HAND PROJECT

I love anatomical parts...hands, feet and especially heads and faces. These are fun for me to use in my art and garden projects. I have seen concrete hands before and thought I would give it a try. I am always added layers of objects to my gardens at Hawk's Creek. If you are like me, putting unusual items in your flower beds or around your patio makes everything more fun.
Get all your supplies together. You will need Rapid Set concrete medium,( the one which states it can be used for casting on the front of the package) a measuring cup, and mixing container. You will also need a pair of rubber gloves,,these will be the basis for your molded hand.
Mix according to directions..they are actually pretty simple to follow.
I used a small succulent for the center, added a pretty little flower for contrast and small colorful stones. I also added a cuff of lace, I wanted it to simulate a fancy glove. Lastly I tied a pink ribbon around the finger. Must remember to water my creation:-)
Enjoyed the project?

Bonnie LeBlanc on Aug 28, 2016Great job. Since I'm now obsessed with concrete I want to work with two hands together. Just wondering if you've made any of those yet? I love your added touch of the glove though.

So elegant looking and unique! This technique would also make cute Halloween decorations if done with black lace, spider webs and a little bat here and their! Like your thinking outside the box and love how cute this would look in a formal garden setting. Can't wait to try it! Thanks for sharing!
