Entryway Thermostat Beautification

Covered a thermostat we hardly ever use with our initials and a shelf.
Problem: ugly (and broken plastic) thermostat right in view when you walk through our front door. First fix I tried was white electrical tape... You can see how well that went. Instead, used some items to MacGyver a solution. 1. Hollow shelf from Savers thrift shop that can slip on and off of the thermostat (the slide-up screw insert types are my fav). Painted same grey as my previously posted candlesticks. 2. LED A & J on clearance, painted grey as well. 3. Slipped the shelf onto 2 screws and displayed the letters along with my grandmother's vase from her favorite place in the world: Iona, Scotland - which I think is the prettiest vase in the world. Even more so because my grandmother once held it close to her heart. I hope she likes it.
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Shelf, painted grey, $3 (Savers)
- Paint, grey, clearance $1 (Lowe's)
- Letters, LED, clearance $3 (Christmas Tree Shops)
