Upcycled Globe

This post will teach you how to take an old thrift store globe and upcycle it into something amazing! This is an very, very easy project to complete and makes a huge impact in the room! It takes about an hour or so from start to finish and is incredibly easy. See the full blog post for more photos and details on how to do it!
Here's what I started with - I got this globe from Goodwill for less than $10 a few years back and hadn't done anything with it. I spray painted the base black (it was originally brown) before getting started.
I designed the quote I wanted to put on the globe and printed it out, then I used a pencil transfer technique to get a traceable image onto the globe (more details on this on my blog). Then, I used a paint pen to begin filling in the letters.
I had to do two layers to get a full coverage, but overall it only took about 45 minutes or so to trace and fill in all of the letters.
And that's all there is to it! You can see the full tutorial with way more details and photos on the full blog post on my blog, Love & Renovations.

I have a couple globes that I am going to do this to! One with Southeast Asia showing for my son who lives there, and the other for LA where my other son lives. Great idea!
