Farmhouse DIY Porch Lighting

My husband and I were both excited when we found these amazing farmhouse lights in a barn. He had to crawl under a lot of stuff to get them, but they were well worth the crawl. They are my favorite “farmhouse/country” green color and they are weathered just right. I didn’t know what I was going to do with them at first, but when we started planning our porch makeover, I knew exactly where they would go.
It took a little figuring out, but we were able to add these lights to the wood wall we put up in our back porch. We bought galvanized pipes and other pieces to configure them in a way that would make the green fixtures look like sconces on the wall.
I spray painted {afilink} the galvanized pieces black and we were ready to put them together. The first thing we had to do was start the FREE reclaimed wood wall (that post is coming up soon on my blog). Then, we added the wiring and finally, the fixtures.
We screwed the base piece on the wall and pulled the wires through, we added the "arms" to the sconces and then configured the socket inside the green fixtures with the help from Snake Head Vintage. (Yes, we had an electrician helping.)
All of the pieces came together beautifully to give us the pair of sconces we wanted! I could not be more happy with the outcome. Our entire porch makeover reveal is on the blog here: {http://mycreativedays.porch.com/back-porch-reveal/} so you can see it all together.

Kris S on Nov 10, 2016Great idea! We used electrical conduit for our curtain rods in our living and dining rooms. Both rooms have huge picture windows and it would have cost us over $200 to buy decorative curtain rods for them. We bought conduit and pipe fittings instead for under $20.00 for both windows. Then bought clip rings for another $10.00. They look great.
