My Painted Black Ceiling

I love my dining room, but I feel like it was just so……expected. Boring, if you will. I need drama. And I need color.
So I decided to paint the ceiling BLACK. Read my full blog post to find out what color and sheen I used for this project.
It was at about this point that I was 53% excited and 47% terrified.

Listen….. that happens to EVERYONE. In EVERY project. Just keep going!!!!! Don’t back out half way thru a painting project. Finish it, THEN live with it a few days and THEN decide!
And this is how it turned out. I couldn’t be more thrilled with it.

It makes me so happy to look at!!

If you are wondering what some of my other favorite paint colors are, or why I used flat paint or which brands are my favorite, you can watch this video in my full blog post . I also have a few ceiling painting tips to read about.
My blog post has more before and afters of this dramatic change. It would be fun to try out other colors. The black really goes with my whole home's recent updates from golds & browns to a gray color scheme. (You can see that by searching on my blog too!)

This is great! I need to resurface my living and dining room ceiling. Now I have great options for my old stippled ceiling.

Definitely dramatic! Good for you for having the courage. Often, we end up with results we just love. Great job!
