Expect the Unexpected With This Junker's Christmas Home Tour!
by

Several years ago I tucked away my Christmas decorations, and decided to create my own out of found objects.
Today, it's completely normal to expect the unexpected. It's actually very challenging to create something new out of virtually nothing, but that's the very thing that fuels me to do it again and again!
Here's a good sized sample of the tour, with more in store at the blog link.
How did I do this year? Which is your favourite feature?

3 old windows later, this illuminated old window Christmas mantel has you believing you're on the outside looking in during a winter storm. Very cozy glow!
And because it's nice to see the entire fireplace... here you go!
These stacked crates are actually part of my kitchen tour... this is my office on a wall, decked out like a big 'ol crate Christmas tree. Serious stuff need not apply here... :)
Any guesses what this star is made out of? Here's a hint... you generally burn it. Yup! Kindling stars!
Create instant conversation for your holiday guests with this old wheel Christmas wreath window valance. I dare you. :)
Tools in tooboxes?! Well I never! Make fake Christmas presents out of them instead. And sit them beside a stacked gear Christmas tree tea light! Hey, at least it will never blow over...
The stair rail is filled with kindling stars, and that metal panel you see at the end of the stairway is to hang Christmas cards from. The rustic real wreath was made from a faux garland.
Jazz up a plain window with a few empty frames, wrap one in evergreen branches, and string a grapevine / pinecone garland across the works. Your cat will love it!
It's snowing in my bathroom! Well, it's easy to pretend it is with a little spray snow dusting the corners of certain shutters and crates. And it's easy to clean too.
Create a candlelight ambiance with white mini lights tucked around mason jars inside a homemade drill handled toolbox. Safest candlelight out there!
I hope this tour has encouraged you to pick up something you already have, and get creative. You'll love where it takes you! Each of these projects indeed come with tutorials via the blog link. Merry Christmas everyone!
