See an old lamp in a new light with my latest DIY Decor project. This week I crafted this gorgeous crystal formation lamp base and I'm THRILLED to add such a gorgeous project to my collection. I was inspired to tackle this project after lusting after a super expensive Anthropologie version--and I must say this turned out WAY better than I'd hoped.
I love it when the DIY version looks just as good as something you could buy retail. I found this simple brass lamp base from Target for under $10 and transformed it with five pounds of quartz crystal points! Each layer of crystals took several hours to dry, so in total this took about 4-5 hours over the course of 3 days.
Yes--It IS a DIY
I've always admired crystal lamps when shopping online but they've always been to high of a price point. This project totaled out at about $60.
I love how this looks styled on my bedside table. Craft a matching space to tie together mismatched side tables on either side of your bed or couch. I think this technique could also be a great way to update vintage brass candlesticks or vases!
I used varying sizes of crystals to create a more naturalized effect. Smaller crystals filled in holes and gaps to conceal the lamp base. Click through for the tutorial and my tips on how to create the crystal formation.
How cute does this lamp styled in this cozy little nook in my mom's house? Don't you love a vintage hat used as wall decor?!
Enjoyed the project?
