If you also make or want to learn to make sugar scrubs and body soaks, they would make wonderful jars for those. And you can decorate them by painting them with a "Sea glass" paint (You can make a DIY version of seaglass paint for the outside only, just using modgepodge or glue-all and food coloring. It works really well and if you mess it up, you can just wash it off!) They'd make a perfect size for putting together a gift basket of "Spa goodies." Buy some baskets/bins at the local dollar store. You can even round out the look with a few cheap spa things the dollar store sells, like a scrubbing poof, a foot file, etc.
Give them to a Kindergarten teacher. They're always looking for items for projects to do with the kids. My son made a wonderful sand sculpture in a baby food jar in Kindergarten; and other projects too.
I made snow globes with them years ago using little plastic figurines, sparkles, and mineral oil. They were pretty cute.
We used them to make our own candles for a fundraiser!
In addition to all great ideas above (which I will copy!) I usually save glass and plastic bottles for the small, last bits of rice, grains or chocolate chips, etc.
Baby food jars spice rack. Buy old wooden Coke crate (that held individual
bottles. As is or stain, Spray paint the jar lids and using a fine point marker and label with spices you use. Sits on counter or can hang on wall.
Paint the lids with chalkboard paint and put you spices in them!
Screws, Nails, Earring backings & missing pairs to jewelry items.
You can use the jars to make candles.
They can be used for storing freezer jam for gifts. fabric and ribbon to cover the lid. Or for jam that is sealed with the wax.
Really cool decorative things!
