Upcycled T-Shirt Yarn Bouquet

When I started this project my plan was to make some cute little pom pom animals. But as it turns out t-shirt yarn doesn't make very good pom poms. It is too fat in the middle and won't fill out into a nice ball shape like regular yarn does. Anyway for awhile I wasn't sure what to do with my miss-shaped tassels.
But then I had the idea that they might make interesting flowers. So I gathered up some more colors and made a few different size and thicknesses of pom poms.
The "flowers" were dipped in glue to make them hold their shape. Once the glue was dry the "flowers" were trimmed into their final shape.
Bottle caps and wire hangers were added to make the stem.
I used quite a bit of florists tape to finish the flowers and to secure the arrangement.
And with a little experimenting I came up with this small floral arrangement. If you would like more details on how this project was made please visit the link below or for more inspiration on how to upcyle please visit www.upcycledesignlab.com
