Add an interesting and beautiful finish to a glass surface.
Take rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to clean the class surface . Make sure there are no smudges or streaks.
First remove the backing paper and stick the vinyl Modello onto your glass surface. Take a Squeegee and run it over the design to make sure the design has no air bubbles that can bleed paint. You want this to be a perfectly smooth sticker.
Peel the release paper off slowly making sure the design is perfectly smooth vinyl on glass. If you have any part of the design you don't want paint on and you want to be glass, tape it off with blue tape and run the squeegee over this as well. I added tape to the border.
Then mix water and vinegar to the ratio of 1 part vinegar to 2 part water of the amount you desire into a squirt bottle. You want to spritz it imperfectly about a foot above the glass. You need to wait for this to dry to move onto the next step.
*If you prefer this as a distressed antiqued mirror, use this step, otherwise you can skip to the next step and keep it clean*
Take a flat matte spray paint in black and gently spray over. Don't overthink this at all, just give the glass a light spray to add an interesting effect. You will need to wait for this to dry.
Next, you need to take Rustoleum Mirror Effects and spray a light coat over what you did. You will need to wait for them to dry, it takes about 5 minutes for one light coat to dry completely. Spray 5 coats for a solid effect.
Because we are working the back of the glass, it will not be as vulnerable to damage, but take a light spray of shellac to seal it just to be extra careful.
You want to wait until the next morning for this step to ensure that it's completely 100% dry and you won't be peeling off the paint sticking to the modello.
Take a Modello Picker and pick off all the adhesive stencil. The sticker part will be the negative space of the design in which you can see through the glass. Be careful! The picker can be sharp.
And Voila! Your beautiful antiqued stenciled mirror is all done. Enjoy!
