If you’re anything like me, you’ve been skipping a crucial step of your skin care routine. I have a thorough cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing (etc.) process that happens twice daily, yet when it comes time to get myself dolled up. I somehow don’t think about the effects of putting this up to my clean, porous face. Needless to say, it's time for some major spring cleaning when it comes to my makeup brushes!

Just look at that bad boy. Months and months of dried and crusted makeup, plus anything else it picked up along the way (on my face or in my makeup bag.) Blek, this isn’t okay.
So I gathered up all my dirty makeup brushes and made a solemn vow to myself that cleaning these suckers once a week would become a consistent step in my skin care routine. I was surprised to learn how simple this would be! No expensive cleaning products, no crazy chemicals touching my skin… just an easy recipe using ingredients I always have in my home.
Vinegar and water, simple as that.
Mix the two together into a half & half combination.
And stir your brushes lightly in the mixture. For any stubbornly-caked brushes, let them soak in the mixture for a bit. Then rinse the brush in cold water to remove the vinegar scent.
After drying off the bristles, re-shape the head of the brush so it doesn’t dry all wacky.
Ahhhh, feels like new!
I love how fluffy my brushes are now!
Cheers to healthy skin and free, like-new beauty products!
xoxo
