Simple Reclaimed Wood Coat Rack

Using a unique piece of reclaimed wood from a recent trip, I turned it into a functional coat rack with a touch of nautical flair!
This piece of architectural salvage/reclaimed wood came from a recent trip to Bethany Beach with the family - let's just say my little guy has a great eye! I'm not sure if this was used a decoration or trim but it is a beautiful piece. The first step was to use some Simple Green cleaner to scrub away any grime and a light sanding on any rough areas. Any loose paint was flaked off with a brush.
Because this piece was *probably* exposed in some way to lead based paint, it was necessary to seal it with a poly. Multiple coats of polycrylic (I went with 3) on both sides and I felt confident about eliminating lead exposure.
Using some unique anchor hooks, I followed the pattern and behold our gorgeous (and super simple) coat rack! Any other information can be found on my blog, The Charming Farmer.
