One idea is to use clear contact paper. Cut it out in a repeating pattern and add it to the glass on the inside. It will still let light in, but it will provide privacy as well.
You could use frosted spray paint, I did that in my bathroom window .
Put up a double rod with sheers and drapes / curtains that coordinate with your decor. I have done this in almost every room in my house. The sheers let the light in yet provide privacy and does block some of the harmful UV rays. The curtains / drapes provide a more finished appearance and total privacy if desired.
Get frosted contact paper. You could even cut small patterns in it to create an even prettier look...depending on how private.
you could also glue decorative glass plates (I would use E6000 or another clear epoxy). It is still clear for light, but things will distorted when looking in. This would be a permanent solution.
I love the idea of using hankies. They are private but very light and look at all the things you can do with them!!

My hubby has done our front door and bathroom windows in a frosted film that sticks on like contact paper . It comes in several lovely designs , some look like stained glass , and can be purchased at Home Depot , Lowe's , etc. We have privacy and plenty of natural light , which I love !
Thanks everyone!
How about window film?
