It was time for a new kitchen look....sticking to my love of Vintage style I managed to pull together a kitchen with a couple of memories and items from my 2 grams. I chose a bold dark cranberry color to marry into an antique white. All vintage style décor that I have crafted pops all around the kitchen, mind you this kitchen is a manufactured home so it is not rambling with space but does provide ample room to cook up a great meal and an eat in bar as well.
I had been looking for something farm like old and rusty with a tad of color, low and behold it was sitting right on my back property. A very old farm wagon so I disassembled the side gates and they worked well with the white wall. I crafted a wreath with some bits of material and added some vintage kitchen tools. The best part is I had come across my grams recipe box, so I hung some cording and made a garland from her recipe cards attaching them with some wooden clothes pins.
The dark berry color works well with the white tiles nd cabinets. Vintage colored dishes are used to decorate a boring window that looks out to the sun room. The hammered metal pendant light adds just the right amount of light ...that was bought at Lowes.
When I was a small child I used to spend a lot of time with my great gram , we used to walk to the A&P market everyday where she would buy groceries I think just to get the S&H green stamps. I used to sit hours around the table licking the stamps to fill the books to get free items such as dishes etc. A wonderful childhood memory. I crafted this isgn in honor of gram.....I hung this just above the stove.
Assorted dishes and Canning jars that I painted that hold some daisies sit upon the shelf.Love
Love this little shelf that fits perfectly under the counter.
This little island plays double duty, a great place for chopping food or setting down hot pans it was once a filing cabinet that opens from the top I paid 5$ at a thrift store , the top opens and works as a safe for extra goodies that I am not ready to pass out yet. The top is a huge sheet pan that fits perfectly upside down. And the best part it has wheels and works as a desert wagon on the holidays and special occasions.
Open shelving works well dishes on the bottom and decorative items on top . Love my new thriftstore cow find.
Hope you enjoyed the little kitchen tour. The redo was such fun ! Love to see one of a kind kitchens that are your own style!
