Getting shocked hurts!!!
Yes, I'm speaking from experience.
One HUGE thing you can do to improve your home's safety is test your GFCI outlets.
Simply press the Test/Reset buttons once a month. If that Reset button doesn't reset then you need to replace the GFCI.
Why are GFCI's so important?
Code requires them in your bathroom and kitchen along with other spaces like unfinished basements and garages (check your local code).
GFCI's are not that hard to install and I wanted to share a few tips that will make the process SUPER EASY.
You can check out my post and the step-by-step video tutorial for all the hot details.

Kelly S on Jan 26, 2014Make sure your tracer is rated for 25 volts and not 50 volts. I prefer to verify that it is dead using a voltmeter after I frisked it with the tracer. It's better than getting bit by electricity.
