I need help on how to store towels and washcloths
my bathroom is small. just vanity
Anywhere that is closest to the vanity.
If you have them rolled and put them in a cute basket or container on the counter, that would be adorable!
Honestly I switched to the paper towels that come in a decorative box to elivate laundry and germs.
It's a matter of personal choice, Marilyn. In one of my bathrooms, I have a guest/fingertip towel hanging on a towel ring but in the other, less used bathroom, I have the guest towel simply folded and just on the counter right next to the sink. I sometimes have two or three extras stacked on the toilet tank but they are mostly there to add some color to the bathroom. However, they come in handy if, for example, I have company over and notice the guest towel (sitting on the counter) is too wet. If I see that, I simply remove the overly damp towel, toss it in the laundry room and put a fresh towel by the sink. I hope this answers your question.
Hi again .... I neglected to add that I like the many pretty choices of paper guest towels (and used to use them in the past) but found many times, guests didn't toss them in the garbage container but, instead, threw them in the toilet which, unfortunately, resulted in plumbing bills!
I have a holder on the back of the powder room door as well as a tray with the paper guest towels too sitting on the counter.
I roll them up and put them in a basket. Supposed to look like flowers for the more imaginative..
This is entirely a personal preference. There are some great guest towels put out by Kleenex that you just put in a small tray or basket on the back of the toilet or on the sink. For family, the hand towel that hangs closest to the sink is the one that will be used (unless it's kids and they won't even wash their hands!)
Stack of folded guest towels on the counter.
We used to sail on Cunard ships and on a last cruise they had washcloths as hand towels in the bathrooms. I entertain at least once a week for Mah Jongg and I copied that idea, putting inexpensive washcloths in a square planter on the shelf in the bathroom area. I painted a paint stirrer saying "guest towels" and stuck it in the planter. Works fine.
I have a square basket on the vanity and I brought 3 different colors of washcloths to put in it. I have 3 rolls of 4 washcloths, each color in a roll. I folded the washcloths in half and then rolled them up. It looks super cute.
I have clean fingertip towels hanging on a wooden rack over the counter AND folded in a basket on the counter and NO ONE uses them! How do I get guests to understand they are for them to use. I've thought of putting up a cute sign, but it seems a bit overboard.
Years ago I was in the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta. In the lobby was a very opulent powder room. At one end of the vanity was an enormous pile of thick white fluffy wash cloths. In a corner there was a large wicker basket where the soiled cloths were tossed on the way out. I thought what an extravagance! No high quality PAPER guest towels here, but thick Egyptian cotton wash cloths to dry your hands and toss in a basket. So guess what I did. Take a look.
I have a round towel bar which I love holds 2 towels
Hi Marilyn, hope this helps you out.
