Create a sophisticated Fall planter with an ornamental cabbage and some trailing vines and blooms. A striking addition to your outdoor Fall decor!
To make this you will need a planter, potting soil, an ornamental cabbage plant, a hanging plant with a mix of blooms and vines, as well as some plant starter food.

My ornamental cabbage only cost $5 at my local garden center. The hanging basket was around $10 or so and I will be able to break it up to dress up multiple planters, making it very economical!!

Be sure your planter has a drainage hole, you may need to drill one. This only takes a moment but is a vital step to healthy plants - otherwise, your plant may "drown" in the planter.
Make a hole in your dirt large enough to hold your cabbage. When planting, make sure the base of your plant is not higher than the rim of your planter.

Put some plant food at the bottom of the hole - before you plant.

Place your ornamental cabbage first and fill around the base with a few vines and blooms from your hanging planter.

Add more plant food to the top level of soil and water well.
Add in a few white pumpkins around to complete your Fall scene!
Enjoy your beautiful Fall planter all season!!
