Enjoy the softer side of Fall with this soothing purple arrangement. It's easy to turn almost any container into a planter with this easy tip.
The supplies you will need for this project include:
A basket or other container
Trash bags
Soil
Fertilizer
Purple Mums
Dusty Miller or Lambs Ear
Ivy
Purple Petunias
Hydrangeas
White Pumpkins
Baby Boos
The secret to making a planter out of a basket? Line it with a trash bag! Yep! That's all it takes!
Fill the lined basket with soil. Don't forget to sprinkle in a little bit of fertilizer.
The only downside to this type of "planter" is that you have to be very careful with your watering since there is no drainage.
Finally, place plants and flowers into the basket.
I used purple mums, Dusty Miller, Ivy, and purple Petunias.
I then rounded out the basket with some clippings from one of my Hydrangea bushes. The blooms are getting that lovely tinge of purple.
These cut branches need water so I recommend using floral picks, floral oasis, or even just little baggies filled with water and attached to each branch with a rubber band to keep them hydrated.
Finally, tuck in a white pumpkin and a few baby boos!
This arrangement makes such a soft and pretty centerpiece for the season!
