They are after Sugar..........
Try to find where they are coming in the house and start treating them there. If you find them outside the house, follow the trail and try to find where the hill is and put bait down on the hill. Be generous on the hill, no telling how many are in the hill!
At a certain time every year (usually June or July), ants appear under my kitchen sink. I swear by the ant traps sold at any dollar store! The pack I bought contained three tin traps for the price of $2.00 and they worked like a charm. I put two under the sink area and one on the kitchen floor just outside of the cupboard. I don’t have any pets or young children so it was safe to do so. As I said, I only have ants appear the same time every year.
Try sprinkling baking soda where you see the ants. It works
I need help to. Please help us
mix some BORIC ACID in your corn meal
Find some obvious entry points, if not clear just along all wall edges of the room leading to the spots you're seeing them, and all around interior of cabinets with sightings. Mix a dry mixture of Borax washing powder (just look up what grocer carries near you), and powdered icing sugar. They wolf it down, carry back to family, and it kills em all. If you can see their hill, sprinkle this stuff all around for a few feet, and for good measure, sprinkle cinnamon all over the top of the anthill. It smothers em. Good luck.
Sprinkle baking soda where you see the ants. I was getting them in my bathroom, had no idea where they were coming from. I sprinkled the baking soda in the corners & a long the window where the screen is.Have not seen anymore ants.
Marge in New York.
Sprinkle baby powder or talcom powder
Use black pepper, they can stand the pepper.
I had the worst type of ants once - carpenter ants (can eat the house lol!) I had an exterminator out twice and they returned. I found the MAGIC answer in The Mother Earth News big book.
Mix equal parts borax and table sugar. Place under the cabinets, behind toilets, (damp areas), where see them trailing.stI had the worst type of ants once - carpenter ants (can eat the house lol!) The mixture kills the entire colony! Does so by several methods: kills those that eat it (boric acid is the killer, sugar the bait). It eats through the ants' exoskeleton to kill, poisons their trails and when they die, the adults feed the digested carcasses to the babies. Voila! All generations gone!
This works on all varieties of ants.
If you have pets or small kids, place the mixture inside small Chinese to-go containers and poke small holes about 1/8"-1/4" up.
Borax {get at drug store or supermarket} mixed w/ small amt of suger will work, (sweet eating ants) or borax w/ tiny amt of Cisco (grease eaters) {yes there is a difference} will work, TERRO ANT BAIT is good, I use it a lot. Nothing is quick and easy...and plug EVERY crack you can find w/caulking compound in that vacinity.. also wipe the area w/ vinegar soaked cloth as they leave a scent trail for their friends and relatives to follow..
i’ll try this. Thanks
I’ll try it
Try using regular ant traps, their about the size of a match book. I can't remember the brand, but you pull apart these little boxes, and the'll stick anywhere. Spread them out in the kitchen, around the sink, stick one on the side of a cabinet, one under the sink cabinet, and by the stove. You should look outside. and look for ant hills near your house. They like to have their nest near concrete. Spray the holes, with ant & roach killer. Then be patient and don't kill an ant if you see one. They need to go into the traps an bring back the poison to the nest. This should take about 3 days
Nope
I have those tiny "sugar ants" all over! and they're FAST! I get them at the computer desk, everywhere they climb up my hands/arms (give me the itchies!)...have animals, so need to be careful what to use...also cant find their "trail"; spray doesnt work. any other ideas? thanks!
