This shows two projects done in red and white tulle. The primary one I did was a square wire frame done in red and white. The finishing touch was a silver reindeer from the dollar store.
This is the finished red and white "candy cane" square wreath.
I cut each piece of tulle six inches long. You can make them longer or shorter as long as you can work with them. Six inches work well for me. When I want a fuller look I alternate the lengths.
I purchased four small rolls in red and white tulle. You fold in half each piece of tulle as you put them on the frame. Then you pull the loop behind two metal "rails" , then pull the tails of the tulle up through the loop at the top from the front. Pull it snug. They are easy to change or rearrange if you want to as you're working by loosening them up.
Alternating the colors.
I used alternating sections for the colors. You could use any colors doing this.
Then I alternated the colors again using the inner metal ring or rail and the 2nd rail where the top of the other loops were, alternating them with the loops that were already there. You could also keep the same color as the lower rail. Tulle with glitter is also available, but, has a tendency to shed the sparkles while you're working with it. When done, I added a cute silver reindeer from the dollar store by hanging it with the wreath on a hook.
I found the candy cane metal frame a little more challenging. I tied off sections of tulle to keep the colors from sliding off and also wrapped tulle to make it look more solid. Tulle is slippery compared to fabric, which I think was the difficulty with this one.
The time and cost is for both wreathes. The square form and tulle were purchased at Walmart. The candy cane form was purchased on Etsy. As mentioned before, the reindeer came from the dollar store.
