If your winter is anything like ours, blankets cover the floors of your homes, because those kids/adults can never seem to put them away! This is a great project for creating a way to store and showcase your cold weather comfort items. But, don't let that limit you. It really could be used to store many different things. You won't believe how little it costs to make!

Reduce, reuse, recycle, right? We started with a rustic, worn pallet. For tips and instructions on how to dismantle it easily, you can watch the dismantling a pallet tutorial on our blog.
Once you have all the boards separated, measure the legs and mark to rip them to width. Make sure to remove the nails, especially in those pieces that will go through the table saw.
After you've made your cuts, sand down the boards to remove sharp edges, making sure to leave some character.
Now it's time to lay out and square up your ladder frame, making marks for your rungs on either side.
Cut your rungs to the angle of your ladder, sand the ends and attach with glue and nails. You may choose to stain your ladder. We left ours unfinished.
Finished! It looks great. What would you use this ladder for? Shoes? Clothes?

love this blanket holder I have so many crochet blankets bought at thrift stores because I cannot stand to see them just discarded after someone worked so hard to make them. sometimes you can get them for 2-5 dollars apiece. whoops I told my stash of blankets. oh well cannot buy them all. chris smith

I love the rustic, simplicity of this blanket ladder ~ very cute and practical. Your instructions are great and give me confidence that I can do this same project. This is definitely a blanket ladder to make and use. I also imagine using it for displaying Christmas stockings and ornaments ... many holiday uses!
