Nothing screams "Christmas" than tinsel. Lots and lots of tinsel. So when I stumbled upon a long, snake-like strand of retro metallic tinsel garland among all my holiday decorations, I just had to use it somehow. It was too fun to toss away! With too small of an amount to drape around the tree, I found myself wrapping it around a wreath form instead. Twenty minutes later, I had a sparkly retro-inspired holiday wreath to hang on my door!
Wrap the tinsel around the wreath form. If using multiple strands of garland, wrap them around the wreath in an alternating pattern. Tuck the ends underneath the tinsel. I used a metal wreath form but a styrofoam wreath would work just the same.
Heat up a hot glue gun and adhere jumbo sparkly pom poms to one side of the tinsel garland wreath. I used about 10 large pom poms and arranged them in an artistic "clump"!
If desired, add a layered bow onto the side of the wreath. I then placed the bow to the side of the pom poms. Check out that version of the wreath on my website. Or, simply loop the ribbon around the wreath form to hang. For another fun holiday idea, see my Letterboard Napkin Rings.
