Pendant Lighting Over Island

6 Materials
6 Hours

Finally we were able to put the 2 pendant lights over the island.1st let me say the cost of this was originally added to the very start of the kitchen renovation
how it finally looks and the white ceiling tiles line up with the copper tiles located in the dining area
I had 2 of these shades and purchased the electrical components to wire the lights ourselves from amazon
what we were trying to hide..the small wall that was here and all the nail and screw holes
so the true 1st step was all about center over the island and to make sure it lined up with the detail over the dining table and to figure out the light placement
Once we knew where the boxes were going to be we cut the holes
then the fishing began...from this hole to the one centered over the sink by the window...
and then fishing over another line to the 2nd fixture....Once we fished the new electrical lines it was time to put the boxes in
then the next step was to place the ceiling tiles in what we hoped was the right measurements....with liquid nails and black headed screws we attached 1st the white ceiling tiles...all those brown marking are from the old wall that was there
then the 2nd white tile
and the 3rd white tile making sure it fit perfect to the electrical box
after that we took the remaining copper hued tiles and cut them in equal sizes to trim the white tiles
attaching each the same way as the white tiles, liquid nails and screws
the corner pieces were tiles cut into 4 identical pieces
then we attached the light fixture after wiring the electrical lines
thinking of putting either edison lights or smaller wattage to show the glass globe off better

Folks don't understand these little guys have enormous emotional attachments and once someone gives up on them for a handicap, they don't understand what they did. You give them love, support, and security. How great for all of you!

Excellent idea. We have the same problem with a little bit of renovations we’ve done. Marks on our ceilings, etc. Needing to change light locations. Thanks for sharing and good job. 👍🏻
