Just about this time of year our yard is full of acorns! Here is an adorable project you can make with them that you can enjoy throughout the Fall. icon
Save the glittered acorns in a bowl, make a wreath or garland. They are beautiful and add just the right touch to your Fall decor. icon
I started out by painting the acorns with an orange chalky paint and let them dry on a tray. When the acorns were dry I painted each acorn with Modge Podge. You could also use a Modge Podge spray.
I rolled the acorns around in a very fine orange glitter I purchased at the craft store. The fine glitter works best and adheres beautifully to the Modge Podge.

I used hot glue to adhere the acorn caps back onto the acorns.

These little beauties can last for years if sealed and stored carefully!

You can tie a fine fishing line or baker's twine around each cap stem with a dot of hot glue to create a beautiful glittered acorn garland.

Cute. Did you bake them first to get rid of worms?

Did you wash them before the project?

This is a clever and pretty Fall idea that I'm going to make. I'll put them in a little bowl on my entry table! Thanks! (I hope the little grandkids don't think they're candy!)

LOL I hope they don't too! I'm glad you're going to make them! Have fun!

Very sparkly cute AND easy! I'm going to do this. I have everything on hand - lucky me - even the giant oak in the yard with tons of acorns. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm thinking about making the garlands then using them to make a door wreath with some added color.
