Hi Maria, these magazine/ book racks are perfect for storing shoes in the bottom of your closet they can hold 6 to 8 pair of shoes.
WOW, here's a unique idea if you have or know someone who has a cat.

Repurposed Magazine Rack to New Cat Scratching Post
I just found one that is metal. I am having a huge in house "estate" sale tomorrow and I may display mine with platters or plates in it.
I would take out a couple of spindles on one side so one of my cats could hide/sleep in it. then I would cover the back and top to give them more privacy. Like the idea of carpet on the ends as we always like scratching posts.
I use mine to hold my cookie sheets and cutting boards. Really helps with clearing space from your cabinets.
for the magazine rack, what I have done in the past, is paint, shabby chic it, I always found barn red easy to use, because if you miss spots that's cool and your going to sand some anyway. I have made about 10 of these and displayed them as towel holders (roll the towels ) and toilet paper holder. in winter store your wood ( even if you don't have a real fireplace its eye appealing. Or place by your front porch and put seasonal flowers in it. And if you live in Vancouver excellent umbrella holder!
Hope that helps, skies the limit.
I have put trailing plants in an old magazine rack, looks great!
My dad made me one of these. I can't part with it so I re-purposed it to be a shoe rack. It's just big enough to hold my shoes. I change them out seasonally.
Great idea. I just touched on up that I bought from a flee market.
Use it as a filing box to hold important papers or arts and crafts papers. Depending on the sizes it might hold cookie sheets and/or cutting boards in the kitchen.
I use mine to store dog toys. The slats are just wide enough for him to pull out a toy from the bottom.
I used mine in guess bedroom put Towers, washcloths & Soap plus shampoo & conditioner trial size
I've been looking for one to set by my water cooler and put our 8 40 oz stainless steel water bottles in. I hate them in the cabinets and they are always falling over.
