Summer Mantel #summer

Adding summer touches to a home office mantel by shopping the house.
I always try to add seasonal touches in our home office because we spend so much time in this room. The big tv has become my big chalkboard with the help of PIcMonkey! :)
A tiny update- I wanted shutters, but gave up and purchased these metal and wood pieces from Hobby Lobby, at half off. I painted them white to match the trim and mantel. I think the additional height is better.
Nothing says summer, to me, like Milk glass, fishing floats and seashells. I'm looking for some vintage shutters to add to the mantel for some additional height. I shopped the house to find most of these items. I did buy the fishing floats.
A few shells, fishing net and a bottle with a message in it complete this vignette.
I used these 100 year old balustrades as candlesticks. I added the starfish to the candles with sisal twine.
Enjoyed the project?
