It's been some time since I last posted. Some medical issues have come up and I'm not even sure I can get through this. However, like any good Hometalk crafter, we push on.
For the past few years, I've been collecting a variety of body forms. To date, I have completed "Steampunk: Favorite Art Form" and the "Merry Christmas Tree". Today, I introduce Emma.
Using my Gesso recipe (from "MomPodge, the mother of Gesso and Modeling Paste), the first step will be to cover the body form, front and back.
Using a black grosgrain ribbon, tack on a variety of laces. This will be hot glued to the bottom of the body form.
Using a gathering stitch, the skirt is made with three different laces. The bodice and waist areas are using two different laces - all of which were on hand. The rosette is also a lace which I added a little diamond bling. The "necklace" is simply a single earring.
Here we have a view of the backside. The applique on the back, comes from the "thrift shop wedding dress", I've mentioned in some of my altered bottle art.
A pompom is added under the top layer of the skirt to give it a lift.
Strands of rhinestones and dangling earrings add the bling to the lower layer
My debutant, Emma, is now ready to make her debut.
