I thought I'd try a dirty pour with some acrylics on a fake, cheap pumpkin. I thought I'd keep the colors autumnal... but now I'm eager to try blues and purples!
Gather paint choices, cups, gloves! (just got a mani!) mixing sticks, trash bag to protect work surface... and "acrylic medium" -- ask for it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. (Use a coupon --- it can be pricey!)
Mix medium with paint.
Mix WAY more mixing medium than you think! ...so that it really flows down the sides of your pumpkin. (Maybe like 1 part paint, 4 parts medium)
Dump colors into other cup - in whichever order you chose. Maybe even do it twice... like I did!
Pour colors over pumpkin stem. Let them drip down the pumpkin... pick up and tilt the pumpkin a bit to get some "motion" into the paint! HAVE FUN!

Oh me like this so much. What fun with pre-schoolers.

Is there anyway you could do a dirty pour on plastic pumpkins. I’m planning doing a planter with the plastic one, like the kind kid sure for Halloween, stacked and out dried flowers in. But I love pouring idea.
