Uplift an Old Basket

A few months back I bought a couple of baskets from a thrift store (charity shop here in the UK) but they weren't quite my style. I decided it was time to jump on the pompom trend and update the basket.
My thoughts turned to removing the lining, setting it aside to reinsert once completed.
I used spray chalk paint, to change the colour. Following the instructions on the tin I gradually built up thin layers to avoid drips of paint. Make sure you do this in a well-ventilated space.
Using scraps of wool I made three pompoms with a pompom maker to add a splash of colour to the baskets. You can, of course, make as many as you like.

One the pompoms were added to the basket, I adjusted the lining. I placed the lining inside the basket, folding the excess fabric in between the basket and lining, hand stitching in place with white thread. I love the finished result.
The only question left is what to keep in my basket??
