If you're looking for a super glue that is strong I love Rapid Fast by Dap. For wood glue I like the Gorilla Glue brand.

It depends on the project you're working on. I use construction adhesive a lot in my repurposed projects. It has a strong bond and holds lots of heavier things (wood, tile) well. For lighter projects like silk flowers on wreaths, I'd use hot glue. Tacky craft glue is great for paper projects, and ModPodge is fantastic for lots of craft applications.
